School lunches

Author note: I'm writing about why school lunches should be longer to persuasive that it would be a good idea to have longer lunches for many reasons.

Do you ever feel like your rushed when you’re eating at school? Asa Clark middle school students do. Asa Clark students have two lunch periods A and B in those time periods they are both 20 minutes long. Honestly that’s not enough time for a young adult to eat. It could hurt how they do in school and the student’s health. It could also help out the student’s next class teacher. I will try to convince you why lunches should be longer at Asa Clark Middle school.


Following my thesis statement you’re probably wondering how longer lunches would help teachers. For one the kids would have more time to socialize they wouldn’t have much to talk about. Another reason is that they would highly likely be out of energy so no jittery students. It could also help students pay attention in class and not day dream they would also ask wise questions. It’s also a bonus teachers would have more time to eat also and have more time to get prepared for their next class.


In Addition of how it would help teachers it would help student’s health as a young adult lunch periods should be longer because if you have longer to eat, it will cause you to eat slower. Eating slower causes better digestion, less heart burn, and a lower chance of stomach trouble once the body grows older. Also if you eat to fast your body needs time to realize you’re full.

Finally my final most important reason out of the two I just listed in the few paragraphs is kids eating habits. Studies show that if lunch periods are extended by about 15 minutes the students will be more likely to choose healthier food vs. junk food. This is important because healthy food will help the kids both physically and mentally be strong. Studies also show that with longer lunch periods the kids will be on task longer and working to their full potential. Like I said in my first reason.


Although there is many more extremely good reasons why Asa Clark Middle school should have longer lunches the problems that I listed was some of the most important issues not just with our school but with other schools to. Hopefully you took my word in consideration and convinced you that having longer lunches would help the student’s school and teachers.
