How would you like to move to the middle of nowhere where you had no friends and no family except for your dad? This ghost story The Old Willis Place by Mary Downing Hahn, takes you on its adventure with all the mystery and its easy to find mode of literature.
Since there is so much mystery in the book, the literature to this book is really easy to decide what it is especially since it starts out with world in conflict. Then it’s the resolution because it’s when finally Lissa (the new caretakers child) finds out about Dianna and her little brother Georgie are not alive but they’re just haunting their grounds. Of course Lissa was shocked I would have been too that’s when the tragic flaw happens Lissa wants to help. If this ever happened to me this would scare to me to death because, it would put my life in danger along with my family. Personally working with sprites isn’t something I want to do of course. If it was to help make Dianna and her little brother Georgie rest in peace, then defiantly would but, if it was just to figure out what they were doing here then defiantly wouldn’t. After tragic flaw then comes tragic fall one of the reasons why I found out that next in plot line was the tragic fall is when Lissa’s plan to help didn’t work. As the story went on Lissa was getting attached to Dianna so that’s why Death symbolism happened Dianna and her younger brother where both where they were supposed to be. Their spirits where in peace, so obviously this story is tragedy mode of literature. While reading this I couldn’t help but be happy and agreeing with what Lissa did.
Although tragedy mode of literature is sometimes hard to find another thing that was hard for me to find is the connections with any character in this book. One connection I did have is how Lissa was brave enough to go through with her plans and didn’t give up .i don’t give up easy and if there was a plan that I made I would go through it all the way. Another thing that related to me is the mystery in Lissa’s head what she was thinking .Lissa wanted to figure out what was going on all these questions popped up in her head .Same thing that happens to me and would happen to me. Other than those two Connections there really wasn’t anymore in this book.
Even though the connections weren’t that strong with me and any character and the plot line of the story is pretty easy to find, overall it’s a great book. I would read it again even if it wasn’t a have to.
