Gifted

How would you feel if your so called normal school had people that had special powers? When reading Gifted by Marilyn Kaye I didn’t really see any connection with the main character. One of the reasons was that it doesn’t seem like she’s the best girl to be friends with. With that it’s a great book to read but it wasn’t the best book ever because of the purpose.

In the beginning of the story the purpose just seemed like every other middle schools purpose to learn and make friends, everybody had there cliques. The cliques with nerds jocks or plan popular mean girls, that would make fun of every girl that didn’t dress like them that’s what got my attention! Was the author tiring to tell the readers that you shouldn’t judge people by what they look like? Even if that wasn’t what the author was tiring to say, that’s what I thought when reading it.

Deciding if I like it or not because of the main character .Amanda really takes out all the happiness in the book and leaves it dreadful .Everyone isn’t up to her level, which made me mad because of that normally reading these kind of stories will get your brain going. In the end its either I like it or not story .

Overall this book could be a book to read for class or just for fun because it has a purpose that actually means something. If it didn’t have such harmful words it would be the perfect book for a Lang arts class.
