Does patriotism still matter?

Does patriotism still matter? Yes it does for many reasons. For example how do you think the people feel fighting for our country? If we don’t show it or celebrate they’re would be no point for the people to be fighting for us and dying every day. When a flag goes by I think it’s really important to put your hand on your heart to show you care about our country. Another thing I think people should really do to show you care is to hold the flag up and take it down with respect. Although patriotism doesn’t seem as popular as it used to be does still does matter?
People might think it’s not important but it really is,
If you can’t love our country then you must not care if we don’t have freedom. You might not care, but people who come here to have freedom do. If we didn’t have freedom here there would be no point for them to be here. Then our population would go down and businesses wouldn’t have as much business. Cultures wouldn’t be combined. Less churches, fewer apartments, less houses and lands. Although patriotism doesn’t seem as popular as it used to be does it still matter?
If we didn’t care about patriotism the soldiers wouldn’t have the courage to fight. They see all of us supporting and loving what they are doing because the rest of us don’t have the courage to fight. People are saying that patriotism is more important now than ever even if some people don’t show it. I Agree the soldiers really need our support because their missing their family and hardly resting. Wouldn’t you miss your family after not seeing them for how long? Although patriotism doesn’t seem as popular as it used to be does it still matter?
Our flag is very important not a lot of people know what the stars and stripes stand for but they don’t think its important. The flag means, 50 stars on the flag for the states we have in our country and 13 strips for colleens. Another symbol for our country is our song. The words have so much meanings some people don’t get the meaning. My thought is that it means Freedom, showing we have the independence while other countries don't. Although patriotism doesn’t seem as popular as it used to be does it still matter?
Years ago patriotism mattered a lot more than now. When the flag went by they would stand up. When they would take the flag down they would fold it now we just take it down like it means nothing. People from years ago would take the pledge allegiances seriously. Also they would know what the fourth of July really meant now sure we celebrate it but I beat over half of people who celebrate this holiday don’t even know the meaning. So overall you can really see how patriotism can affect people if we don’t do it.
